Hey! I’m Shuaizhi. I study artificial intelligence and philosophy, contribute to open source, and trade: crypto from memecoins to majors, as well as equities and commodities. I’m an undergraduate in artificial intelligence at Harbin Institute of Technology, living in Shenzhen.
The questions I care about most are the ones that grow more urgent as foundation models grow stronger. How do models acquire and change what they know? How do people keep hold of their own understanding, judgment and peace of mind alongside them? How do the markets, protocols and communities of a future society get built?
I came to philosophy in high school. I had spent most of two years preparing for maths olympiads; when that path ended, I went back to school under heavy pressure and started reading to find a way through. Wittgenstein came first, then Žižek’s Event, then Heidegger, and from there in every direction. A Thousand Plateaus made more sense the longer I lived with it, and Deleuze became my favourite philosopher. His work later gave me the first idea behind The Override Gap.
That is also why I care about education, especially for students who are struggling with study or lost about where their lives are going. I’m still finding my own way, and I’d like to help others find theirs.
I’m looking for people to think and work with. If any of this is close to what you are doing, write to me.
